Republican Counterpart

Vicki D. Kunetka is the Republican Precinct Chair for Harris County Precinct 0813. Her public record shows active involvement in Harris County Republican Party organizing, including precinct-level party work, Republican candidate endorsements, and participation in Harris County GOP resolutions. That is her right, and voters deserve to know clearly who is organizing politically in their neighborhood.

The contrast is straightforward. Her public activity appears centered on Republican Party politics, conservative candidate networks, and state and county GOP priorities. My work as the Democratic Precinct Chair for Precinct 813 is focused on neighborhood-level engagement, service, transparency, and making sure Democratic voters in Bridgewater, Raintree, and the rest of the precinct have a visible, accessible, and accountable local representative.

My own political background is more moderate than today’s partisan labels may suggest. Years ago, I was a member of the Republican Party in Connecticut, and I have previously supported moderate Republican candidates. But American politics has changed. The practical, center-right politics that once left room for moderation, compromise, and local problem-solving is very different from the harder-edged partisan politics we see from many Republican organizations today. Over time, my values and priorities led me to become a Texas Democrat: committed to fairness, inclusion, public service, local responsibility, and accountable leadership.

Precinct chairs are partisan offices, so real political differences matter. But those differences should be handled honestly and directly. My focus is not on personal attacks. It is on building a stronger Democratic presence in Precinct 813, helping neighbors understand what is happening locally, and making sure our community has a clear alternative grounded in service, transparency, fairness, inclusion, and practical community leadership.
